Thomas Malthus, a British economist from the 18th century, first used the phrase "overpopulation" to describe a population's incapacity to support itself through agriculture.
When the number of people in a specific area exceeds the capacity of the environment to support them, it is said to be overpopulated. This tendency is fueled by things like better healthcare, more food being produced, and technology developments that have raised birth rates and decreased mortality rates. Yet, there are drawbacks to overpopulation, such as a lack of food and clean water, deterioration of the environment, poverty, and heightened competition for scarce resources. Also, it may make issues like climate change, biodiversity loss, and deforestation worse. A multifaceted strategy involving population management, sustainable development, and education must be used to address the issue of overpopulation.

1.) "Close of day" represents the end of one's life or the final moments before death.
2.) The phrase "burn and rave at close of day" suggests that even in the final moments of one's life, they should fight and resist the natural course of aging and death. They should live their remaining days with passion and intensity, refusing to go quietly into the night.
3.) The poet believes that old age should burn and rave at close of day because he values the importance of living life to the fullest, even in its final stages. He encourages people to fight against the inevitability of death and to resist the urge to simply accept their fate.
1.) The poet uses the word "dying" to emphasize the idea of the end of life. He is urging people to fight against the natural course of aging and death, and the use of the word "dying" helps to emphasize the urgency of this message.
2.) The repetition of "rage" creates a sense of urgency and intensity, emphasizing the importance of fighting against the inevitability of death. The repetition suggests that the fight against aging and death is a passionate and emotional one, and that people should approach it with the same intensity as they would approach a battle.
1.) This line implies that men who are not wise will not have the same level of understanding or acceptance of death that wise men do. Wise men, despite knowing that death is inevitable, are able to come to terms with it and understand that it is the natural course of life.

I feel blessed to study in one of the most prestigious and esteemed schools in the city. In addition, my school has a lot of assets which makes me feel fortunate to be a part of it.
From kindergarten through primary and secondary school, and subsequently, to faculty, school is a place where we always study, grow, and establish ourselves, socialize, be a friend, help others, and love and be loved. School is a buddy that will accompany us from the beginning of our youth till the conclusion of our lives. At school, we share all of our pleasures and sorrows, and we constantly rely on one another. This is made possible through the friendships we share. They assist us in effortlessly overcoming difficulties, sharing moments of enjoyment together, and looking forward to new paths.
My school strikes the perfect balance between modern education and vintage architecture. The vintage buildings of my school never fail to mesmerize me with their glorious beauty. However, their vintage architecture does not mean it is outdated, as it is well-equipped with all the contemporary gadgets. I see my school as a lighthouse of education bestowing knowledge as well as ethical conduct upon us.
Teachers have the power to make or break a school. The teaching staff is regarded as the foundation of any educational society. It is their efforts to help kids learn and understand things that instil good habits and values in their students. While some concepts are simple to grasp, others necessitate the use of a skilled teacher to drive the home the idea with each pupil.
In contrast to other schools, my school does not solely focus on academic performance. In other words, it emphasizes on the overall development of their students. Along with our academics, extra-curricular activities are also organized at our school. This is one of the main reasons why I love my school as it does not measure everyone on the same scale. Our hardworking staff gives time to each child to grow at their own pace which instils confidence in them. My school has all the facilities of a library, computer room, playground, basketball court and more, to ensure we have it all at our disposal.
For me, my school is more than simply an educational institution; it is also my second family, which I established during my childhood. A family of wonderful friends, outstanding teachers, and fond school memories. I adore my school because it is where I learn how to be a good citizen and how to reach my goals. School is the only place where we make friends without judging them. We feel comfortable spending time with those close friends no matter what the situation.

How is irony used to create meaning and effect in The Laboratory?
In "The Laboratory" by Robert Browning, irony is used to create meaning and effect by highlighting the speaker's distorted moral values and twisted sense of justice.
The poem is written from the perspective of a woman who is seeking revenge on her lover's mistress, and she visits a chemist's laboratory to purchase poison. However, the irony lies in the fact that the speaker, who is consumed with hatred and envy, is portrayed as a victim herself, while the innocent victim, the mistress, is never shown in the poem.
Furthermore, the speaker's use of imagery to describe the preparation of the poison, which is both beautiful and deadly, adds to the poem's ironic tone. Through the use of irony, Browning is able to comment on the destructive power of envy and the dangers of revenge, ultimately creating a haunting and unforgettable effect in the poem.

Technically there is no literal Beast, Simon sees Jack and the Hunters' offering to the Beast as a hallucination of the Beast. The offering is a dead sow(female pig)'s head on a stick. But that's chapter 8- if you're looking at the Beast in chapter 9, the Hunters see Simon as the Beast.
"He walked drearily between the trunks, his face empty of expression, and the blood was dry round his mouth and chin... He pushed on, staggering sometimes with his weariness but never stopping. The usual brightness was gone from his eyes and he walked with a sort of glum determination like an old man." (pg 185 about Simon)
You could say Simon is dizzy, sick, weak, and dirty.
But in chapter 9, Simon sees a dead guy who parachuted down to the island as the Beast.
"...the white nasal bones, the teeth, the colors of corruption... how pitilessly the layers of rubber and canvas held together the poor body that should be rotting away." (pg 186 about the dead parachuted guy)
You could say this 'Beast' is dead, rotting, decayed, still, and disgusting.
