Shiatsu, a Japanese form of massage, uses finger pressure in a rhythmic motion. Shiatsu helps improve the flow of energy and regain balance. Like Shiatsu, Thai massage targets specific points on the body for balance. Thai massage also uses stretches and is energizing. There are also specific massages like massages for pregnant women and athletes. In addition, reflexology, or foot massage is done by applying pressure on the foot. The belief is that certain points on the foot correspond to organs and systems in the body. Whatever a person's need, one may try relaxing and refreshing by getting a massage.
