How do the phone calls from hally’s mother affect his behavior? he assumes the role of boss with sam and willie. he chastises sam and willie for acting like children. he retreats into silence and does his homework. he starts to eat more sweets.

Answers

The phone calls from Hally's mother affect his behavior in the following way: He assumes the role of the boss with Sam and Willie. The phone calls from Hally's mother seem to reinforce a sense of authority in Hally.

As he engages in conversations with Sam and Willie, he takes on the role of a boss or someone in a position of power. This shift in behavior can be seen as a response to the influence or expectations placed upon him by his mother.

He chastises Sam and Willie for acting like children. Hally's interactions with Sam and Willie become more critical and condescending after the phone calls from his mother. He scolds them for behaving in a manner that he perceives as childish or inappropriate. This change in behavior suggests that Hally's mother's influence leads him to assert a more authoritative and judgmental attitude toward others.

He retreats into silence and does his homework. The phone calls may have a negative impact on Hally's mood, leading him to withdraw into silence. This behavior could be a response to the stress or tension caused by the conversations with his mother. Hally may use this time to focus on his homework as a way to distract himself or regain a sense of control in a situation where he feels pressured.

The group discussion was an effective way of understanding different perspectives and helped me develop a broader outlook on the topic. We communicated effectively, listened actively, used evidence to support our opinions, and followed most of the rules. The group was successful in solving problems and coming to a consensus on some issues, and it was an enriching experience.

The group discussion that we had was regarding climate change and how humans are contributing to it. We had an interactive and intellectual conversation that helped us to understand different perspectives on the issue. Overall, I think that the discussion was effective, informative and gave us a better understanding of how humans are affecting the environment. In preparation for the discussion, we were required to read various articles and watch videos about climate change. I feel that I was well-prepared for the discussion. During the discussion, we established the rules of keeping the conversation respectful, not interrupting each other, and trying to understand each other's points of view. These rules were mostly followed, except for a few instances where some participants interrupted others or failed to listen to their viewpoints. My own background knowledge and values influenced my presentation, as I was passionate about the subject, and I supported my views with evidence and reasoning. However, I tried to remain open-minded and listen to other participants' opinions and viewpoints. In my opinion, the group did an excellent job of responding to each other, actively listening and asking follow-up questions. People used evidence to explain and defend their views, and when someone disagreed with their opinions, they used reasoning to support their ideas.Still, there were times when someone presented their perspective without any evidence or stretched the evidence to fit their view. For example, one of the participants claimed that climate change is not happening, but when asked to provide evidence, he was not able to present any reliable data. During the discussion, we all had different viewpoints, and some of them differed from my own. This difference of opinion helped me to understand the importance of hearing other people's viewpoints and respecting their beliefs.
